Client: Norwegian engineering firm for a North Sea offshore platform upgrade.
Challenge: Required super duplex stainless steel (UNS S32750) seamless tubes for high-pressure, chloride-rich seawater service. Needed to withstand extreme pressure (15,000 psi) and resist pitting/crevice corrosion.
Our Solution: Supplied hot-extruded and cold-finished super duplex tubes with solution annealing and quench treatment. Provided critical pitting temperature (CPT) test reports and IGC (intergranular corrosion) test certificates as per NORSOK M-650.
Result: Tubes installed in the platform's crucial seawater injection system. Zero failure reported after 18 months of service.
